Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like psychotherapy sessions, clinical assessments, and medical nutrition therapy.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item is scheduled. You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
While Good Faith Estimates are federally mandated for our clinical health services (Therapy and Dietetics) under the No Surprises Act, Ehrhart Singer Therapy Group proudly extends transparent, upfront pricing descriptions and clear estimated package costs to all of our coaching and performance clients as well.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 985-3059.

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice (not including weekends or holidays) for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations (less than 24 hours’ notice) and missed sessions will be charged the full session fee.
Sessions are typically 50-55 minutes. If you arrive late, your session will still end at the scheduled time.
If you do not attend a session without notice, it will be considered a no-show and charged in full.
If there is no communication for three consecutive scheduled sessions, services may be discontinued.
-
For privacy and boundary reasons, communication between sessions is limited.
Email and the secure client portal (SimplePractice) are the primary methods for scheduling and administrative communication
Messages are typically returned within 24–48 business hours
Communication outside of sessions is not a substitute for therapy
If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
-
To protect your confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries, I do not accept friend or contact requests from current or former clients on social media or engage in communication through these platforms.
-
Your privacy is important. All sessions are confidential in accordance with HIPAA and Massachusetts law.
There are a few legal exceptions, including situations involving:
Risk of harm to yourself or others
Suspected abuse or neglect
Court orders or legal requirements
When appropriate, I may consult with other professionals for clinical support without sharing identifying information.
-
When working with clients under 18, parents/guardians may have legal access to treatment information. At the same time, maintaining some level of privacy helps support effective therapy.
In general, parents/guardians receive occasional updates about progress and overall themes, while specific session details remain private unless there are safety concerns.
